Port Hinchinbrook in tropical Far North Queensland is on the mainland at the southern end of Cardwell and is the gateway to Hinchinbrook Island and the Hinchinbrook Channel. 

The closest airports are Townsville and Cairns both of which are two hours by road.

The ideal way to get to Port Hinchinbrook is by car and many car hire options are available in Cairns and Townsville.

Greyhound and other national bus carriers have daily services to and from Cardwell.  Daily timetables are available on their websites.

Passenger trains operate daily between Brisbane and Cairns and stop in Cardwell.  Shuttle bus connections can be arranged from Townsville or Cairns airports.
